Black Friday Weekend

Well, last Friday was my very first Black Friday shopping. Got up at 3 am, arrived at the store at 4 am - and WHAT?????? My first thought upon arrival was, wow so many stores have so many people waiting to get it. Parked the car, walk to the store, just to find out that all those people at the other end of the shopping center all wanted to get into Target. Guess I am not really yet a real American haha. Hanna and I (yes, Hanna came with me - she loves going shopping, no matter what time of the day LOL) walked all the way to the end of the line and made it inside the store within 10 minutes, not to bad. Got great deals on most of the stuff that was on our list, so we are very happy!

Saturday we had to drop Ian of at his friends house, they needed to work on some homework presentation for their Religion class, so off Hanna and I went yet once again. Got her a nice leather jacket, that she wanted and just strolled through the Westfield Topanga mall. Boy has it been a long time since I went to a mall, usually I am just in and out.

Sunday was just staying home and doing nothing, well, that's not really true, I did a bit of scrapping, got to work these last few days on this gorgeous Christmas inspiration kit and just searched the internet for stuff. Found I desperately need the next class from Jessica Sprague, so I can start creating my very own templates and get my foot into digital designing. If all oes well I plan to become a designer in 2012, so wish me luck!

Thanksgiving Thoughts

This year has been a very eventful year. Good things have happened and sad things have happened.

After learning digital scrapping beginning of this year, I wasn't stoppable for a while. It is just way to much fun to create layouts without making a mess and while being able to be around my family, instead of being tucked in a corner in the front of the house.

I love digital scrapbooking :)

In March of this year we lost my father in law. He passed away peacefully in his bed. It was very hard for Val, my husband, because now both of his parents are gone.

June I had surgery to have my thyroids removed. Recovery very speedy and without pain pills. Can you believe that I didn't needed any pain killers after the surgery. The nurses kept on coming into my room and offering them to me, telling me I didn't needed to be brave. But I wasn't trying to be brave, I just didn't had any bad pain. I was just blessed that way.

My father was hospitalized this summer, because of retaining to much water in his body. For a while it was touch and go, but we are blessed to have him still around. He is now back home for a while and doing o.k. I can't wait to see my parents again next year.

Ian finished Middle School in June and started High school late July. He is a different kid, loves High school and all it has to offer. In August he became a Cadet in C.A.P., the Civil Air Patrol and loves going there every week and helping out at different events, like a Veteran Dinner and Child Car seats Safety. I am so happy for him to have found something that he is really interested in.

Hanna is now in her last year of Middle School. She became for the second time around a Cheer leading Captain and loves cheer leading with all her heart. She can't wait to become a cheerleader in High school, too.

In October hubby had back surgery, where he is still recovering from. He is feeling already a lot better and I am so grateful that he made it through the surgery o.k. I am looking forward spending many more years with my love and best friend. Who knows, maybe in time we can go traveling and camping. It would be so much fun.

November 6th, my sister in law Lally passed away after a long fight with breast cancer. We miss her, but we are glad that her suffering has ended and that she is now with Jesus.

I am so grateful for my family, for our annual Thanksgiving turkey, that I look already forward to feast on this afternoon. What a great life to live.

Happy Thanksgiving!
